Who is "NEPOLEAN"?

Napoleon, I will correct

@St-Sinner look it up first.

Simon Bolivar. Why does no one ever acknowledge Simon Bolivar?

Yeah, I thought he would rank there too. But not one list anywhere lists him in the top 20. I will revisit the list and compare him with others.

I have read he liberated six countries from the Spaniards and traveled more miles on the horse than Napoleon did. It is quite impressive.

In your opinion what number should he be at?

What about some native Americans or African kings?

For a great impact on history? Who are they? They maybe brave; good warriors but this list includes warriors for the size of accomplishments and impact. Please let me know your suggestions.

@St-Sinner I just think your list leaves out north and South American worriers. Incas, Aztecs, Apache, Cheyenne,, Iroquois, etc

@ADKSparky

I looked at various listings online, did not do independent research. Possibly because victors wrote the history. But no name appears from those nations pre-invasions. I would agree that this is a perspectives of the whites.

@St-Sinner [en.m.wikipedia.org]. I’m fascinated by the Inca empire. Smallpox weakened it and allowed the Spanish to over run and enslave the survivors. Check it out.

@ADKSparky

Your link did not work.

Yes, I saw this PBS documentary on how Spaniards decimated the Mayans and Incas to bring Christ and rule over Central and Latin America. No doubt there were great warriors and great civilizations. The history has not done justice to them. They don't get their dues in Western histories for sure.

Many of the people on this list I'm not familiar with but more than a few were conquerers responsible for the deaths of many people. I would not call them heroic whatsoever. Probably at least a few of these could go on the "biggest evil doers of history" list.

Agree but this is the list of the warriors who were good on the battlefield. Conquer at all costs or get perished was the rule then.

Id like to throw in King Alfred of Wessex. Saxon King who fought invading vikings. Also the original mastermind behind the unification of England.

I looked at him and a few others. But he did not fare in the top 20. Others had bigger impact on land and cultures in history.

Every land, region has heroes that are bigger in their mind. I grew up in India, was taught from elementary school about kings who I was led to believe were the greatest warriors in the universe. Still people there think some of their political leaders are heavyweights in the world. Hosni Mubarak photoshopped his visit with world leaders showing he was walking ahead of Obama and Merkel. For some time Egyptian people believed he was great, he managed to stay in power for over 25 years but now people hate his name. That's how strong the power of governmental and cultural brainwash.

With Stalin and Mao and Hitler having killed more than the rest most likely.

I have included them in the "Most Impactful Political Leaders of the 20th Century".
