Got back from a brilliant two-week trip to Alaska and thought I’d share some pics.
We went to Denali National Park and were able to see Mount Denali — both by land and by small airplane — all 3 days we were up that way. Encountered a nice variety of wildlife, including moose, caribou, and grizzlies/Alaska brown bears.
Spent time in Anchorage, where we drove the stunning Turnagain Arm, hiked onto Byron Glacier, and fed moose by hand at the Wildlife Conservation Center.
The highlight was 3 days in Bear Camp, where we glamped among the coastal brown bears who played, ate sea grasses, dug for clams, made babies, defended their territory, and otherwise lived their lives free of interference from man.
Ended on the Kenai Peninsula, where we kayaked Resurrection Bay, took a boat tour out to see whales, and went tidepooling (looked for small sea life at low tide).
Quite the experience of a lifetime. I can upload only 10 photos, so it’s hard to show the full experience. If you can go to Alaska, do it!
