The thPeople on the far political right, about 30 percent of our population, are constant throwing out the false label of socialist, Marxist, and/or communist to disparage almost all opinions with which they disagree. What they are doing is (1) trying to stir up their base, and (2) trying to distract attention from the fact that thy, themselves, constitute the greatest threat that exists for our pursuit of democracy and our constitutional republic.

They would have you believe that the number of Marxists in our country is in the tens of millions and that almost all of them are either trying to create a revolution, or trying to lead us down the path of creating an ideological dictatorship by pernicious deception. They hope that they can deceive you into ignoring the fact that about 30 percent of our adult population is badly ethnocentric or white supremacist. That is somewhere around 80 million people. Of that number, at least five to ten percent reactionary extremists looking for the right leadership and or the right crisis to spur them into violent action to destroy our democracy and our constitutional government. That is 4 to 8 million potential violent right wing revolutionaries.

In contrast, I would estimate that the number of Marxists in the United States to be no more than 1.0 percent of our total population. Or no more than two and one-half million people. Of that number, only 5 to 10 percent could be considered to be either subversive actors or true revolutionaries, or less than 300,000 people Of the latter group, all of them know that the political right wing in our country is looking for a excuse to destroy them, and do not dare to act on their tendencies. So, that leaves no more than 20, ooo dangerous Marxists.

So, where is the greatest danger – 4 to 8 million violent white supremacists seeking to establish an authoritarian dictatorship, or 20,000 Marxist revolutionaries?????? It is past time for us to stop responding to the Marxist dog-whistle and focus on the much more imminent danger.
