It makes no sense. trump contracted COVID and also got vaccinated. Trump takes credit for getting the vaccination developed and beginning vaccinating people. Heck! He takes credit for the whole success of the vaccinations. For his supporters to be anti-vaxers seems counter intuitive - nonsensical.

@RussRAB It makes sense in that it follows the pattern of disparaging Fauci and the scientific recommendations on mask-wearing. It seemed not to make sense disrespect mask-wearing as a measure that effectively reduced spread. Adopting the anti-vax attitude meshes in that the Evangelical base is typically anti-science and direct their animus at scientists (who have the effrontery to believe evolution). The QAnon movement makes no sense, except that it revolves around anti-Semitic and racist memes. Again, the overlap with Evangelical and white nationalist values is unmistakable.

I thought he said he alone could fix other problems. He just denied this virus from the beginning - it wasn't that bad, it would go away with the heat, he screwed up testing to keep the numbers down, etc.

@RussRAB Yes, his quoted comment was in reference to something else, but his attitude was that he was the only person who could do most big tasks. But he effed-up everything he touched because first and foremost he had to benefit from it. Especially the virus response. There was no % in that for him so he let it run its course.

@mtnhome - You're right about his attitude. He claimed to be smarter than anyone even those who spent their whole lives dedicated to their professions. Then he ran off to play golf and charged us through the nose to line his pockets. It's infuriating that anyone still supports this guy.
