Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any thoughts on quantum consciousness? I’m a skeptic of it but I find the concept extremely intriguing after reading some books by Michio Kaku.
I would advise that you remain a skeptic, there are a lot of ill informed people out there, , im thinking of leaving this group, its like a mad hatters tea party
I wouldn't say it's out of the question. Now that the quantum world has become apparent to us, it probably factors into everything in some way, it's only a matter of discovering how. I wouldn't necessarily attribute ESP or anything like that to it (although I can't discount the possibility).

"World mind hypothesis"
but i haven't read it yet
Sure..I believe in it. Anyone who has messed with LSD or magic mushrooms already knows this.
I do believe there is an interconnectivity to everything, which would explain how some people can almost read your mind and finish your sentences, or why discoveries in science often pop up in multiples across the globe almost simultaneously without any type of contact between those people. It may also explain what happens to the human "essence" after death.
Michio Kaku is a brilliant Scientist but seems to lose all credebility in such matters. I watched a video of him explaining why he thinks we have Free Will. He explains the sciense and then right at the end says 'so we can say we have Free Will in some sense'. Yes in a sense that changes the definition of Free Will so you can say we have it. Just Rubbish!
People thought the Earth revolving around the sun was rubbish too when Copernicus first proposed the idea, just sayin...
@AssassinofWords The difference being Copernicus had evidence. Quantum Consciousness has no evidence and even the proponents of it say it may be unprovable.
It is like new age religion. Virtually everything we can call ‘Mysterious’ is linked to Quantum Mechanics because it has also been called mysterious by Scientists. The differentiating factor between the mystery of new age religion, quantum healing or quantum consciousness and the mystery of Quantum Mechanics is solid, repeatable evidence.
It's psuedo science. We don't understand the nature of science and quantum theory is strange, so link the two thru a leap of faith.
If it was given more credence and research, perhaps it could prove to be something revolutionary, I feel.
There is no almost science, it either is or it isn't. The idea that we treat things that are vague ideas about what truth is and say one day science will prove that is called faith.
And btw, we study everything. And then we follow paths with the most promise until they are falsified and that process opens new promising paths to explore.
Richard Feynman on the topic:
The thing is Scientist mean different things to what the general public mean by words. We think 'Observing' something is a non interactive event. We don't change a tree by looking at it. What Scientists mean by Observing is Measuring. To Observe or Measure something you have to interact with it. You see a tree because light is bouncing off it. You observe a photon by bouncing another particle off it.
Does anyone have any experience with quantum consciousness? So far, not even Michio Kaku. Does this mean we should ignore the subject? No. What it does mean is that in enough time we will find people who claim to have experienced it just like those taken for rides in UFO's.
I always wondered if that connection is made during our rem sleep when our conscious seems to take a vacation
Sometimes I toy with the idea that dreams are our way of visiting alternate universes which is why they are so bizarre to us and seem to defy our understanding of physics.
I know the theory about a particle being in two places at once and it's how they think they could communicate over vast distances using them but the im not sure if they have proved the theory . Using this as my understanding I would have thought that if any of part of our body no matter how small was in a different place it would rip us apart
Perhaps it would be a good start if you break it down and think about what consciousness really means. Then separately do the same for quantum (the real physics stuff, not the bunch of bs out there that use the word only because sounds mystical or what not)... Then and only then (it should take a while), put them back together and work on it (Michio Kaku is a good start though)
