Legit, tho.
Yep, there's a difference in "what would Jesus do" in various cases in today's dramas, vs "what does your church tell you to do because of political favors" in today's dramas.
Here's a crazy thought to present to the believers: Think for yourself about what is right and fair to the most people, and not what the richest 1% might want to increase their revenues off other people's pain and suffering.
Did the Jesus of the bible have any thoughts regarding things that hadn't occurred or been invented yet 2000 years ago? Nope. We have scientists, medical doctors, philosophers, social services and wider spread human compassion than in those days.
Why can't that be seen as an improvement over biblical times, when most people were illiterate and myths were believed because we didn't have scientific facts yet and folks were easily duped to believe whatever the politicians wanted them to believe? Oh, never mind, that is still happening! Did "God" give us brains, compassion and heart to forego them? I think not!
Being a believer confers a blank check to do whatever they want. They know they'll be saved, so they indulge in bad behavior. Atheists have actually spent time thinking about philosophy and morality, and have concluded that social success requires proper social behavior, especially for atheists who are considered worse than rapists by the believers.
