I can't tell if anyone else posted this humorous yet poignant old YouTube video from George Carlin about abortion. If not, it's still as true now as it was when it was originally performed.
Sure miss him! He would have a field day in today’s politically deranged swamp. His old material like this would be even more relevant.
I’m so used to seeing George Carlin looking like this: white barely there hair and white beard. The other week there was a clip from the Ed Sullivan show where he had lots of brown hair and brown beard, I almost didn’t recognize him!
He says it like it's meant to be said . He was a fantastic comedian!
Amazing person and performer. One of my guiding lights!!
Thanks
@Transition1
He cuts right through all the BS.
The points that he makes about "not having a funeral for a miscarriage" and 80% of fertilized ovum are eliminated through menstruation don't really apply in this day in age, because many conservative so think that miscarriages should be prosecuted at murders. [en.wikipedia.org]
I had the privilege of seeing this man live in Savannah. Loved him.
But he was very different from most comedians as he became known for these word for word memorized bits.
People expected to hear "7 Dirty Words" Exactly the same way.
I saw him live too. And thought the same thing. It was almost verbatim the same commentary and jokes I had seen dozens of times before on TV or heard on albums, with maybe a little saltier language.
@Barnie2years Yeah. Most other comics are way more spontaneous with current material. Jokes about things that had happened that week or that day.
He was brilliant and had a quick wit, so I am sure he could have made something up for an hour and a half.
But that is not what people came to hear.
