Why do I find people who believe in the bible so unattractive?
Are we talking about dating or friendship? I am fine, most of the time, with friends who are religious, but I cannot stand to think of being in a relationship with someone who is. The moment I find out a guy is religious, it doesn't matter how intelligent or interesting he seemed a moment before, I can never imagine it being more than friendship. I think it's good that you realize this. A lot of people will just settle so they can have "someone" never realizing how it will end up if they are with someone who has such different views of life.
@coolkoolguy It is the height of stupidity to NOT know what you can and cannot tolerate in a relationship.
I find intelligence attractive. I am not a fan of rude behavior. Many people that believe in the bible are not very smart, others try to push religeon on me, which I find very rude. And some are both.
Maybe because we're dealing with people that fear the unknown of death. And want some kind of guarantee that if they follow what it says. That they will be forever in a land of Bla! Bla! Bla!
And if they don't or you don't. Ya better look out!!! Because this god that loves you so much. Is gonna fry your ass!!!
And that they have some kind of inside track. That they have. And you don't
Because they do not think for themselves and believe nonsense that was fed to them with out questioning it and are obviously not open to new ideas or logical reasoning. As for my self i will not use the word unattractive but my respect for their intelligents goes down a notch.
To me, it alway seems as though ‘people like us’ are more ..humble, thoughtful, patient, open, and far more accepting... We’re likely feeling more emboldened ‘around here,’ but in general, I’d say we’re more willing to hear other’s out.
Those deep into their bibles (whatever flavor) appear closed, arrogant, angry, contrary, even confrontational. Their acceptance of you/ us generally requires a religious test, often quite specific… And, we have our limits..
I find them, for the most part, unattractive because they have either made conscious decisions to subscribe to such a sadistic character, pretend out of social and/or peer pressure or just don't have moral or intellectual capacities to know better. As Bill Maher says, "How could any woman be republican and or christian. These groups possibly demonize women like no others.
for women to men i guest but for atheist men to woman its quite not.
Because they never think about what they believe. I know because I used to be one of them. I was surrounded by Bible believers until I was an adult, so I thought everyone believed it. I never questioned it, until Internet became a thing, and I saw there were other views on things. If you give it honest thought, you can't possibly believe it.
