For some of us it's all we have going, it doesn't make us better, it's just an anchor, a go to.
I'm unique in my astonishing usefulness, that's why people (well companies) hire me to set up their high tech shit. I strut in, a proud transwoman, and intently get to work, most of my software development tools were written by me. I have fixed single handedly what it took entire teams to break, especially in plant startups where there's a couple of hundred jobs on the line.
I may make people nervous, but they love it when my happy ass shows up after they get to know me.
Look at you with your metal ax with it's wooden ax head.
So proud of making a point for conformity and mediocrity, it's really like looking at a puppy that keeps hurting itself for no knowable reason.

You appear to be an exceptional case, one who is uniquely useful, as well as being exceedingly humble about it.

@p-nullifidian I am known for my almost God like sense of humility.
It still makes you special in a mundane world, being useful is overrated for the most part. Prison guards are useful and so are toilet brushes, no big deal.

To compare prison guards to toilet brushes is an insult to good and decent people who have served as prison guards. In a world where everyone seems to be “special,” many of us seem to undervalue contributing to a greater good, while overemphasizing the need to be seen as uncommon, if not unique.
That we are not like anyone else on the planet is a given. Infinite diversity is the law. Having this state as a baseline, we need not emphasize it. Rather, we should, IMHO, focus on developing our skills and talents in pursuit of making a lasting contribution.
@p-nullifidian Prison guards are useful and so are toilet brushes, so are a lot of things, it's a statement and not a comparison. Make yourself more useful, than a toilet brush.
