Hope that every life I cross has benefited by that crossing - even if it wasn't good! The humanist approach I think.
To be active as long as I can, to fully appreciate what I have and to feel like I've made a dfference. Oh and to be able to learn to control stress.
In the short term, I'd love to be gainfully employed.
In the long term, I'd like to have another shot at finding partnership. I'd like to make lots of art. Enjoy my life as much as I can.
To exact change in the criminal justice system, particularly in Texas!
isn't the calvinist way so vindictive. why do we still use jails when we know they do no good at all. treat the mentally ill when they are young and spend money making their lives somewhat gainful. stop spending money on industrial scale prisons with their revolving doors. the west as a whole still has not got with the research readily available
@markdevenish
I've spent my entire adulthood fighting for this change. We are getting closer but still so far away.
I accomplished my life's calling when I became a midwife. Now I am retired after catching a little over 1,000 babies in 20 years. My goals that I have left over after retirement are to live a good life, stand up for what is right and for those who need help. I want to be honest and live with integrity. I want to continue to walk up the hill to the barn with my dog and get my horse and go for a ride. I want to eat delicious food, see good movies, listen to great music. I want to take classes, go to discussion groups, learn, teach, interact with people of different ages, beliefs, cultures. I want to always feel the the life force of the earth, and relate to " her ". So far, so good. I wouldn't mind winning lotto either.
Capitalism is essential. Without it we'd all be living in the equivalent of Venezuela.
Finland, Japan, and Norway are all capitalist countries. Without their privately owned industries they could not give any social benefits to their people.
Socialists should all be given a two week vacation in Venezuela, where they can try out the Maduro diet.
@doug6352 : There is a difference between socialism and communism. Socialism allows privately owned industries. Finland, Japan, and Norway are capitalist and socialist.
Short term: to avoid service of two photo radar tickets.
Long-term: to just enjoy the hell out of my life and be there for my loved ones as they are there for me. Oh... And to fit into my old jeans.
