Am I the only atheist that doesnβt smoke pot?
I don't because I can be randomly drug tested at work at any time. Have a mortgage, need a job. I do own stock in medical marijuana companies.
Remember my time in the military and reason for quiting... and you know what? You are Right and the time will come that you will say.... No, now I can but I don't need it, No! Priorities.
@GipsyOfNewSpain actually, I'm looking forward to when I'm having a migraine come on & I can take a few hits to subdue the crippling pain & nausea & maintain some function as opposed to taking a script that causes me to be unconscious, then once "awake", leaves me a drooling, brain fogged mess, unable to function outside of my house for another 8 to 12 hours...if the headache has cleared. They can last anywhere from a coue of days to 2 to 3 eeeks at varying intensity.
Fortunately, though it has taken years, I have found a lot of my migraine triggers & avoid them like the plague. Not 100% yet but I may only have to deal with a migraine 2 or 3 times a year.
@SallyInStitches I hope the time will come that every time I say... I no longer smoke weed, I won't have to say I don't take any other drugs or any pill labelled by Big Pharma or the corner drug dealer or that I seldom taste alcohol anymore or get vaccinated of any kind or for any purpose. Can I just be Natural? ...as I came to this world 64 levels ago? "Been there, Done that! And no longer needed in my life as it stands at this moment" And I am sorry for your Migraine.
Haven't smoked pot since I was a teenager; I really didn't like the way it made me feel.
I was living in Colorado when it was legalized, and saw no real change, outside of the influx of tax money and new businesses sprouting up everywhere. Have no qualms with it being legalized, myself - it's no more dangerous than alcohol.
The biggest thing for me, though? It's how pungent it smells now... it was never like that when I was a kid. When I was a kid, "skunk weed" was the crappy lawn clippings that only the local burnouts would try to push off and sell, and didn't even give you a decent buzz... now apparently it's all the rage.
Whatever they've done to it over the years, now everyone's walking around smelling like the business end of a skunk... and that smell lingers forever! It's on their clothes, hair, furniture, car, belongings... you go to restaurants and grocery stores, you can smell it floating past like Pepe Le Pew just waltzed in... it's everywhere.
It's a pretty nauseating smell, too... so if you happen to smoke weed? Chances are really good you're not being paranoid -- everyone does know you smoke weed, because you smell like a skunk's butt.
So a word of caution: if you live in a state where it's still illegal, you might as well be wearing a neon sign that says Bust Me! -- it's that pungent, and can be smelled from that far away.
Alcohol is dangerous. Pot is not...
Sorry -- for clarification, I meant "dangerous" insofar as a person functioning while under the influence of a substance (impaired judgement and motor reflexes, etc), not the substance's effect on the body.
Iβd sure like to run into this weed that is sooo much more potent than it was βback in the dayβ... Cause I remember Alcapulco Gold, Thai Stick and WHACKY WEED! I have yet to run into ANYTHING that compared!!
The βdangerβ you speak of is NON-EXISTANT for weed... I have driven professionally in NYC as a cabbie, livery driver, and as an independent traveling musician as well as a USA regional wide driver in a touring music band. ALL while THOROUGHLY weed stoned and smoking more while doing it. NEVER had an accident or near miss. EVER! It gives me energy when I am sleepy and keeps me going when I am hungry and tired... I shared the driving responsibilities with other POTHEADS smoking pot while driving, However, I wouldnβt trust a person behind the wheel who has had more than even ONE drink of alcohol!
Me either. It just doesn't sit well with me no matter how I tried. I know it can be beneficial for chronic pain and anxiety. I find kratom to be more effective on both medical conditions. I use it daily and am very thankful to have stubbled upon this miracle plant.
Better stock up on your kratom because addicts are now using it for it's opioid properties. The government looking to make it a scheduled narcotic because of the deaths from it's use.
@2TuffTony kratom is used, effectively , to stop addiction. Death supposedly due to Kratom 44.
Deaths due to tylenol 15,000. Big Pharm are now experimenting with Kratom. Of course they want to stop the sell of Kratom. This plant will generate them a hefty profit.
@Lethallips I'm not knocking it. Just saying addicts are using it to get high. The FDA/DEA has it under scrutiny and they are considering scheduling as a controlled substance.
@2TuffTony. Gosh how sad that you think this way. They are not using Kratom to get high. It simply does not have that capability. They are using it ro get past detoxing.
@Lethallips sorry, didn't mean to get you upset. Just relating what I've read and what my two idiot cousins are doing with it. They brew it like tea or something? They smoked that artificial pot herb stuff too and used bath salts, etc. So, just saying you might not be able to get it as easy, soon. Words without facial expression can give wrong impression, so again, my bad. Didn't mean to disturb the hornets nest.
No, I seem to just get paranoid whenever I do. I like the idea of smoking weed, I just canβt
I tried it once, but I didn't inhale it.....lol
Pot and acid almost made me some kind of non-atheist. The only way I could pull my way out of it was to learn science, math, and logic. Once I gained confidence in those things, I could look at the mind-altering experiences I'd had in the 60 and 70's as drug-induced visions I had experienced and not revelations from a higher plane.
No, but I have asthma. It is legal here (WA) and I've been to a few weed stores. I sometimes take CBD for pain and inflamation. I very occasionally take CBD+THC for fun.
I'm shocked at the number of people who say that they have never tried it. I thought everyone at least tried it in high school or college.
I think I might at least try it once before I die, but I've been thinking that for about 20 years so probably not.
No. And have been pleased to see that driving whilst under the influence is now treated as seriously as drink driving.
I don't smoke pot, never have even a single time. Although my job forbids it, I never had much interest in smoking in any case.
Nope. I don't either.
na theres bout 30 or so that don't, I quit few months ago. why anyone wanna go halfsies
I don't smoke, drink, eat cheetos, etc. But I do know its the religious people who invested in the pot stocks before it got legal. They where on the both side, investing while condemning. I would vote for everything to be legal but with more oversight and fairness. I don't gamble but i would like to casino in Texas as well in all religious country but where the casino spend money on gambling addiction treatment should also be offered. Same with prostitution etc. I want lot of drugs to go over the counter, such as birth control, antibiotics. No the phramacist do not make the money but the investors, big corporation and lot of wastage. Vasectomies, tubal ligation is another thing I would like to be offered at every corner store.
I don't. Like to be able to say that whatever emerges from me is actually me.
Ha no. Never Have taken illegal drugs, have never been drunk (I drink, (and brew beer and even have a second part time job with a local craft brewery) but for enjoyment not to alter my state). I even stopped taking laughing gas while getting my wisdom teeth out because I hated the out of control feeling it gave me. Never have smoked tobacco, either.
