I like DOGS better than people.
Got off early this morning, and me and my dog Samwise Underfoot went for a run together. It was a beautiful morning. There was a young man sleeping on a park bench with just a blanket over him. Our course took us past him twice. Sam tried to crawl up on the bench with him our first pass by. I pulled him away. There were many walkers/runners out. Everyone was passing him by. On our second pass Sam pulled the opposite way on the leash got a little slack and made it to the bench with the dude. He tried to lick all the skin off his face and climbed up on the bench with him. The guy was a little shocked, till the sound of my voice yelling BAD DOG reassured him it wasn't a wild animal from the woods attacking him. He laughed and said "Thank you, that's the best wake up I've had in a long time" to Sam. Tried to see if I could drive him somewhere. I went back to the edge of town and broght back a bag of Krystal Sunrisers and a cup of coffee. That'll teach him to interrupt my run. Sam was the only being that even thought about trying to help the dude even if it was just wet sloppy kisses.
Imagine if we all could be more like dogs.
Samwise, a loyal, kind, and caring soul. Lord of the Rings I presume.
Most dogs are good judges of character. We had a collie mix when I was a kid that was so friendly that Mom swore he would show a thief the best stuff to take.
Dogs, treat them right and you've got a friend for rest of their life.
I like animals more than people. I don't own any animals. I want a dog. I want someone or some animal to love me back.
No pets allowed in this assisted living center for my mental illnesses. Albeit, I want one some day. I want one that was abused. So I could show them what love is really like. The pound has those dogs. I used to go and look at the dogs there. I became sad, so I stopped going. Young people live in this place as well as some elderly folks.
There is a city park in Seattle Called Camp Long. It was started during the depression and built by the WPA. The park was named after the person who created it. He was a judge and dealt with juveniles and divorces and had a dim view of humans. He wrote a funny book titled "Asses and Jackasses".
I inherited my wife's dog after she died. The dog was more loving and caring and did more for my recovery than all of her family put together.
