Nothing going on now can even compare with the religious and royal wars going on during that period. Louis XIV and his attacks on the Huguenots, the Dutch Calvinists and every country surrounding him. Cromwell and his slaughtering of the Irish Catholics, as well as the Scottish Presbyterians. And the annihilation of native populations in their colonies around the world. Comparatively speaking, we are almost benign.
