I have lost many of my liberal friends since I joined the consevative group. Has anyone else had this experience?

Do you mean this is a conservative site? I did not know that because I am liberal and I'm not here to argue with members, liberal or conservative.

I didn’t have that many friends on the main forum of this website and whatever I lost there I regained tenfold from this group.

By group do you mean on this website or in general in your real life you have lost liberal friends?

Because I never really had any liberal friends on this site in the first place. But my liberal friends are still friends with me in real life. We are either smart enough or young enough to know that just because someone believes something that you don't, it doesn't mean that it should come between your friendship.

I had this one liberal friend who said to me "Z, you are probably one of my most reliable and trusted friends. But I just absolutely hate your opinions on some things and will never agree with you". To which I said "Now you see that? That means that we are better at being friends than enemies. So lets just stay friends"

There are not to many true liberals here in western Oklahoma most of my friends are conservative just like I am. Keep in mind Trump carried 87% in my hometown and every one of the 77 counties in my home state. The few liberals I know I personally I detest as they are Obama supporters and left wing idiots.

Just on this sight. I have a couple very liberal friends I enjoy learning from their perspective. I am for the record liberal on some issues, and conservative on others. I think I would classify myself as a centrist. I enjoy anybodies thoughts as long as there is a degree of civility. Basically I believe in live and let live, or different strokes for different folks.

I am much like you in that regard. Unfortunately for the left, neutral is the same as enemy.

I have some liberal views and don’t mind associating with a reasonable liberal but a lot of them are just looking for a government handout.

True. Their priorities are messed up. They put social justice before personal responsibility and I can't stand that kind of behavior.

I would no more have a Conservative friend than I would have a Nazi friend.

I am not surprised, I dropped many family and conservative friends due to their views. They did not meet my minimum acceptable values.
