MEMO: U.S. DEMOCRACY IS DEAD
How Republicans came closer than anyone thinks to stealing the 2020 election, how the rank-and-file have been seduced, and how the fix is in to steal future elections, starting in 2022 and 2024, destroy democracy, and usher in permanent one-party rule in the United States.
(In my opinion, and in the opinion of many others, this will lead to what I call a "theoligarchy," dominated by the minority rule of the Christian right and the super-rich and the corporations they control. These elections will be, at the very least, the beginning of the end of the imperfect but free society we now take for granted.)
This article is very long with an informative but somewhat off-point middle section, but overall it makes it clear this is not a mere possibility, but rather an UNAVOIDABLE CERTAINTY. It will surprise many, including me, if this does not, in fact, happen.
The DOJ inaction to not prosecute Trump for the multitude of crimes (Treason, Obstruction of justice, bribery, sedition and insurrection, etc.) should tell us what we need to know. The fix is in and we are all screwed. Shame on the democrats for not doing more to save the country, but 150 million plus are not going to accept theocratic fascism peacefully.
In Republican-controlled states (27 governors, 30 legislatures), it will now be almost impossible to dislodge them. This will mean PERMANENT Republican rule on the local, state, and federal level. The Senate and House will almost certainly NEVER be in the Democrats hands again. The Presidency either.
Using "voter fraud" as an excuse,, they are giving themselves the power to disqualify ballots on virtually any pretext, even appoint their own slates of electors, regardless of the actual vote. In every conceivable way they are stacking the deck in their favor.
It's over, as far as I can tell.
If you read the last third of the story, you'll see exactly what I mean.
It is only going to get worse.
Of course. The elections themselves are only the beginning. It will shock a LOT of people how much things will change, and how quickly. And since it is to be a permanent and radical transformation, it will certainly continue well into the future.
