Just had an interesting conversation with a Republican about farmers and feeding Americans. I pointed out that food stamps is through the Agriculture Dept, not though Human Services, because farmers decided a long time ago that no American was going to hungry on their watch. The look I got was worth it.

These days because of industrialisation of farming farmers are making proportianately huger profits and subsequently losses in bad drought or plague years. Consequently suicide rates have dramatically increased. Whats the situation like over there @Dick_Martin?
