So I received a pamphlet in the mail today from my mother, she is a long time and devoted JW. It was an invite to the JW Memorial Service and what really shocked me is that the image of Jesus is the spitting image of my younger brother. Morgan has schizophrenia but my mother and the rest of the believers in the family cannot accept mental illness as a medical condition, they do accept demonic possession so they think that he may be possessed by the devil. Yet there's his lookalike staring back at them as Jesus on their pamphlet.
I found it kinda funny and kinda sad because my brother does struggle with substance dependency issues and they go unacknowledged or supported.
