Yes, regularly. Last time I was told? Maybe five minutes ago.
Wonderful!! ?
I don't get told very often. The other half feels it's implied. Not the same... at all.
Yes, some people believe actions speak louder than words and I would agree to a point. But sometimes it's just nice to hear the words. ?
I was with my oldest on Tuesday and last night after work. New baby and new mama adjustment issues. I was able to tell my daughter how proud I was of her for all she has accomplished and how everything IS going to be OK. She's got some panic disorders going on. I had a conversation with her husband and told him that I thought he was holding up really well, and I was impressed with his quiet support and putting up with my daughter. He is really coming through for her. Her dad had mentally checked out about the time we got her home as a baby. My middle daughter frequently tells me how much I mean to her, and how she is proud of what I have accomplished.
A loving and supportive family, how beautiful. ?
When was the last time I was told? Never that I can remember.
That's a shame. I hope that changes for you.
My family means the world to me so I do my best to let them know that every day. I lost my parents at a young age, and I learned a long time ago not to take those that I love for granted. Things have been very rough lately at my workplace and I was having a particularly bad day today, when my husband sent me a text. He said "as always, my beautiful brown eyed Mrs, I love you." I don't know how many times I went back and looked at the text.
Awwww.... that was so sweet. You got a good one there!!
I let my actions do the talking, those who know me and are around me... they know.
Ok... I just know it's nice to hear the words sometimes.
@BeeHappy Well said. True Words!
From the bottom of my heart I will tell you the words do matter. Actions are good, but words carry more weight. I remember when my dad told me how proud he was of me, the sun actually got brighter that day. And that was more than 45 years ago. Please don't wait, tell them as soon as possible.
@HippieChick58 Oh, I do tell them, they know... I tell them. Thanks!
I tell my daughter every day. ?
What a beautiful thing to do Daddy!
Today is my sons 16th birthday. I woke him up with hugs and kisses telling him how much I loved him!
Awwww... how precious!
So true. I have a great family. We show each other love a lot and know we can depend on each other if we need something.
Today I told a friend how much her friendship means to me and last week another friend bought me gift to say thank you for being there and listening to her and I that mean a lot her. Very sweet moments.
I don’t think I’ve ever uttered those exact words. I mostly show people how much they mean to me through my actions. I don’t remember the last time someone told me how much I mean to them. ?
I'm sure your actions are appreciated but sometimes it's just nice to hear the words...
I used the reply a few moments ago, but I'm going to recycle it for you. From the bottom of my heart I will tell you the words do matter. Actions are good, but words carry more weight. I remember when my dad told me how proud he was of me, the sun actually got brighter that day. And that was more than 45 years ago. Please don't wait, tell them as soon as possible.
Ouch! Yeah, I know I don't do that enough. ? I have 4 sisters ( only siblings). Only have contact with one. I have categorically told her, if she didn't maintain that contact, I wouldn't. Not proud of that fact. It just is. ?
Hmmmm.... sorry to hear that. I only have contact with a couple of my siblings, but I have friends and acquaintances that are good and kind to me, so I try to let them know that I appreciate them.
Yep, my roommate. We have been walking together since the snow melted (not as long ago as you'd think). Without her, I doubt I would be as diligent. Deb, you're the best even if you do think Trump is okay.
LOL
Friendship Trumps self-righteousness. And heck, arguing for and against beats channeling Beavis and Butthead with your friends.
