I say heck with it, lets just get the divorce! They can call their country trumpkanistan or magamerica or some such.
How about this map (based on a previous presidential election)? That joke aside, it's somewhat of a conundrum for us older, bluer sorts living in a red area, though--do we want to spend a large chunk of what life remains for us relocating? Especially since it isn't as neatly divided as the first map and the OP might suggest. The second map showing a less winner-take all analysis of the electoral vote shows a lot of "purple" areas and a more urban/rural divide all across the country. On a personal level, I live in a largely red Kentucky county, but I am surrounded by progressive friends, and very blue Lexington is only a 40-mile drive away. All that said, though, I suppose when the MAGAts start gunning down the people they identify as "libruls," the choice will be made for us.
I'm in a similar situation. I live in a blue metro area of a very red state. There is a very progressive enclave about two hours away, I am not interested in moving there, as I have no one I know living there. If the shooting of lefties by right wing nuts begins tho, I will probably have to move north to Minneapolis to survive, which would be ok, except for the winters and a higher cost of living.
Can you imagine how well off we'd be financially if we didn't have blood-sucking red leeches stealing our wealth?
What people won't understand is that the U.S. doesn't just have one coup going on. It's got several. It is a multi-pronged attack on women, non-whites, LBGTQ, science, education... and it's coming from MAGAs, Christian Nationalists, racist militias, SCOTUS, FOX and PUTIN. And while Ukraine may be winning, as the U.S. burns, so does the Earth.
Let them stew in their own filth. Life without us bailing them out continually will be very difficult.
