As the World Runs on Lithium, Researchers Develop Clean Method to Get It From Water
If this can work for lithium, then it should work on gold, platinum, silver and everything else that has once been deposited in the soil rivers run through. There should also be much at the bottom of lakes. Lake Mead might get interesting
Interesting is a good word.
You mention Lake Mead but I wonder if the soil the Colorado runs through has enough metal to be worth significant effort. Granted, I am a 'downwinder' from atomic tests and I grew up looking at lots of yellow rocks of low grade uranium ore. But...
Around various marinas and such there could be relatively short term lodes from peoples' discards.
I wonder what 'natural' sources could be found. The Salton Sea and the Yellowstone Caldera come to mind but as usual we'd have to be careful not to over exploit.
The process sounds like it has a lot of potential though.
