I believe I do live in a community that values children and the elderly in ways that is more the way it should be than other communities I see in the news. I believe we have fewer guns per person on my island, and there is shame felt by people when they disrespect others, it's just part of the culture here, to show grace and aloha, to old, young, everyone, even while driving in traffic. Sure we have some gun violence, but not in the way of mass shootings, etc., at least not yet. It's just not the way of the culture.
I realize most of the country is not as quiet and peaceful as my little community. I sure hope something can be done to change the mentality in the rest of the country.
I get so fucking sick of the argument that it isn't the guns, that, "If they want to kill people they'll find a way!" Such bullshit. Guy at work this morning said that, as well as, "This is how humans are, they kill each other!" Yes, but only in America do they kill 20+ in a short period of time with an assault rifle. I'm just so so so angry that nothing ever gets done about it.
About the only way this is going to get fixed is a National Boycott...no kids go to school...no teachers go to school...no Board of Education members go to work...NOTHING...TOTAL WALK OUT. States withhold Federal Taxes...SHUT THE DAMN COUNTRY DOWN. Fuck this...no more sacrificing our children to this Second Amendment BS.
Great idea, I am in!
The GOP DON'T CARE. It wasn't their kids that were murdered. Being pro-gun is one of the primary litmus tests. Loyalty is more important, way more important than humanity. They may have been born human, but they're devoted to being inhuman.
