Meet Angeli Rose Gomez. She heard about the school shootings at Robb Elementary in Uvalde and drove 40 miles to the school to make sure her childern were safe.
Once she arrived, she begged the police to actually DO something. They responded by placing her in handcuffs for interferring with an investigation.
While in cuffs, she watched the officers tackle one parent who tried to go into the school and watched officers pepper spray another parent.
After a while, Angeli managed to talk the officers into taking the cuffs off. Once they let her go, she left the crowd of officers and concerned parents, jumped the school fence, and sprinted unarmed into the school while the active shooter was still on a rampage.
Angeli was not wearing body armor. She did not have tactical gear, a gun, or any other way to defend herself. Yet she did what the police refused to do — she put her life on the line and went into the school to save her kids lives. She miraculously found her children and got them out.
Unlike the Uvalde cops, Angeli Rose Gomez is a hero.
