Americans seem to be enamored over this stupid "platinum" jubilee. Our country was founded on rejecting the British Monarchy and totalitarian rule. I do not blame "beloved" 7 year old Elizabeth Windsor for her Nazi salute, but I blame her "beloved" 33 year old "Mum" Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and her uncle, King Edward VIII. I guess her baby sister Margaret is blameless. So the Royal Family are Nazis and are worthless, inbred drones on Britain.

Almost 50% of Americans tried very hard, and will try again, to make Trump the King Donald of the United States. And they would have happily had Prince Donald Jr.succeed him without election. It’s a human aberration, this need to worship not only things, but people.

Trump sees himself as royalty and raised his children as entitled and privileged.

I despise "royalty", "wealthy" and "privilege class". They are parasites of humanity.

So, I take it that you despise the mutlt-millionaire families in America, and how they get their dumb children into Ivy League colleges.
By the way, diamond is for 60 years. Platinum is for 70 years.

@Petter Billionaires too. I hate them all. My point is that this ridiculous spectacle "Platinum" Jubilee. I don't begrudge the Brits if they want to celebrate this nonsense that shuts down the entire country and gives them 2 days "holiday" My disgust is with AMERICANS who admire this old hag who's been a leech on Britain for 95 years.

@barjoe But consider this.
Every four years it costs the USA billions of dollars to stage presidential elections. Then there's the cost of providing security for not only the present president and his family but also the families of all previous presidents and vice presidents.
A constitutional monarchy is actually cheaper to maintain than a republic. The British royal family also meets a large part of its cost from its own private income.
Things like state banquets for visiting dignitaries are paid by taxpayers no matter what the system of government.
And, of course, there's no point in assassinating the monarch because the line of accession simply passes on the baton down the family.
You should actually read up on such things before venting your spleen.

@Petter Parliament and Boris Johnson and his other minsters run "Her Majesty's Government" and UK spends £Billions on their Federal Elections as well. QEII and the Royals just do a bunch of ceremonial bullshit.

@barjoe Likewise your congress and senate, so no difference there.

@Petter America was founded on revolting against George III. These Americans fawn over Elizabeth Windsor Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and the Church of England. God Save The Queen.

@barjoe Just a footnote. How many Americans moved North, in order to avoid being under the new government?

@Petter More Americans moved to Canada in 2017 when Donald Fucking Trump became president than when Trump LOST (he did lose) the 2020 election.

@barjoe Which goes to prove that not all Americans are dumb and bigotted.
In actual fact, I met many of them in small town America many years ago, before your politics became so binary and aggressively divisive.
They were great, pragmatic people.

@Petter Not all. Not even most, but too many.
