Although I'm not a conservative myself, I feel a little sorry for the 'old-fashioned' conservatives in the U.S. who used to be mainstream 20 years ago: they no longer have media that represent their world-view, and they no longer have a political party that represents their interests.
Is there a forum like this where they could meet? As far as I can see, everything has been hijacked by the alt-right mob, the sect of the Trumpistas....
I would say George Will represents a more intellectual conservative approach. He’s even an atheist.
I’m not a fan of Jonah Goldberg though he’s sometimes funny. He can take principled stands. His book Liberal Fascism was an atrocious play on words. Bleck!
The Great Agnostic Robert Ingersoll was Republican but far too long ago to have current relevance. Same with Lincoln.
No sympathy from me at all. Those fuck sticks and their greedy fiscal conservative policies, and hateful, regressive socially conservative policies, were direct precursors to the awful shit we see today. They can all fuck right off and die.
@Matias Yup, and I suppose you think both sides are equally to blame? I don't. Those disgusting fucking liberals with their desires for clean water and social equality. Makes me want to fucking puke. And don't even get me started on all their whining about wanting their children to be able to learn to read without getting shot in the face with an AR-15. It's like, freedom isn't free you pussies; sometimes [daily] tiny innocent children need to be slaughtered so I can compensate for my innumerable inadequacies with a giant fucking gun.
And while you're right, both sides have factions that veer further to the extreme, seemingly on a daily basis, the left's extremists are vying for these destructive, inhumane policies like making up new pronouns, marrying someone of the same sex, and getting gender affirming surgeries that clearly harm every single other person in this country while the right's never pursue any policies that hurt any individuals, groups, animals, or the environment at all.
