I went to the bookstore (Borders) today. It was raining all day and although it's not now the temp is 76 and the humidity is 89%. A good day to stay inside and read.
I bought, Seneca, Letters from a Stoic.
The philosophy section was just a small shelf consisting of maybe 25 to 50 books at best. Yet the religion section was huge. Hundreds, if not thousands of books written about a book that hardly no one has or ever will read. A book about a mythological person who did mythological things and lived in a mythological time (as the bible and history rarely line up). People eat that shit up. I had a hard time finding a book written by a real person, who really lived and really followed, or at least really tried to follow his philosophy.

Finished the third season of Stranger Things and went to the Millie Bobby Brown fan page to comment on the series. They are now going to( or are already in) Germany for a Comic Con visit that promotes the actors and their work.
Later in the day I downloaded all of the Shout Factory films and movies to find that my Facebook friend, Michelle Lintel, is there in her complete series of Black Scorpion. That was a tongue in cheek show similar to Adam West's Batman. In fact West and several others guest starred in Black Scorpion. The Von Lintel family must be proud but Michelle is busy raising baby Charlie these days.
I used to read books and still catch an e-pub now and then if I like the titles and subjects.

It was hot and steamy here in Texas yesterday, so my friend Marilyn called and said hey, I have a coupon for 10% off paperback books. Do you want to go to Borders with me and take a look? I jumped at the chance, because I absolutely love books. I noticed the same thing you did while browsing around and checking out what they had. Lots and lots of bullshit books, very few from a secular perspective. I had loaned out my copy of Dawkins the god delusion and I never got it back so I wanted to see if I could find it in paperback. I asked at the customer service counter where I would find it, the lady looked on her computer and then led me over to a section that said science at the top of the shelves. It was in that section.

If you haven't already...try Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig. It changed my life.

@FvckY0u the book is considered to be one of the best Philosophy books ever written. It is an examination of Quality from both Classical and Romantic viewpoints using the motorcycle as an argumentative platform. I highly recommend it.
@phoenixone1 I've been reading it for 3 years....I'm about 3/4 through it
