I'm within two miles of his property here in St Louis. Grant's farm is now a tourist place run by Anheiser-Busch. They breed their horses there-Clydesdales.

@Gwendolyn2018 I've learned to adjust to big cities. Grew up in a place that had a huge celebration when they became an official town from being a village. Ever get this way, give a shout, I'll buy dinner.

Hit that right on the nail! The dividing lines will be much harder to define at this point. Our civil war in the present would look much more like Afghanistan and it’s war lords than a battle line.

Ulysses S Grant is one of our most underrated presidents. His legacy and memory have been besmirched by racist southerners. 19th century Jim Crow Democrats slandered an American hero. They chose to honor confederate traitors and teach lies about our first civil rights president.

he was a good and honorable man, he didn't always pick the best cabinet members. But he hadn't been trained as a leader....not everyone is a born politician. I wouldn't do good at the job either!
