I, as he...am "scared" about the denial of science in America.
I, too hope that we "get back to a place where we can really understand that science is tested knowledge:...
And I'm sad to read so many doubters here.
I think it's a real issue.
Don't fret. America does not deny science. A few nuts make waves, but they are considered nuts by virtually everyone.
You consistantly make assumptions which must be based on media articles that are written by "journalists" that think sensationalist writing is best.
Get a grip on reality.
Do you know of anyone who says science is not real? I don't. Some may argue with a conclusion (even scientists do that between and among themselves), and even accepted science is sometimes questioned; so "tested" science is even questioned.
Harrison Ford's meme is somewhat simplistic. We should not rely on entertainment people to proclaim fact or political correctness.
Science is far from monolithic. It is imperfect, just as we are imperfect. Science is both a body of knowledge as well as a process. Science is rooted in facts, which is to say, reality. Religion, on the other hand, is rooted in the opposite of such.
That's how science is supposed to work.
Government-funded science does not always work that way.
