Found one of these in one of my garden beds today! Took a picture, but it blended in with the foliage too well; I found the picture online. It was HUGE! After checking it out online, I found that it is nonaggressive, is beneficial, and doesn't need to be controlled.
I am not generally spooked by spiders but the size of this one was intimidating. I let it go its way, though.
Note that the hand in the picture is not spooked.

@Gwendolyn2018 Snakes never bothered me. I was around them in Japan, Missouri, and Louisiana.
The largest and most common spider in Hawaii is the Cane Spider. They don't make webs, but they chase down their prey, such as roaches. They are entirely harmless and not aggressive except to roaches of course.

Good to know it is harmless and helpful.
I would have given it a very wide berth. It's pretty, and as long as it stays outside I will leave it alone.

Is it a Joro Spider?
In a way it could be a bit scary. If it's what I think it is, I guess it's a serious invasive species.
But they're pretty much harmless and people say just learn to live with them. They aren't going away. -- [usatoday.com]
