This little fellow is hanging out on my door wreath today and my daughter got a perfect picture of him.

It's those useful cobwebs that catch you across the face in the dark that are worrisome - particularly when they continue to move!

@Crimson67 Round here we have spiders that you have to fear - at best they will hurt, at worst kill you.
@FrayedBear Dude, most of our spiders in North America are mellow, especially the high up web makers(one exception, yellow sac). Ya'lls gots all the criminally insane ones down there in Oz 
I used to have extreme arachnophobia. Now, they are my first line of defense against our awful ant invasion at this time of year. I pick them up and put them out of harms way most of the time.

we were told they were money spiders and NOT to kill them. a hold over from the plague as once they figured the disease was born by fleas, spiders of course eat them for breakfast

I was told the little red ones the size of a pin head are considered money spiders in Australia.
Have always been amazed/enthralled by spiders. Used to spend a lot of time watching orb spiders spin webs on my deck. Seeing an insect fly in to the web and be wrapped and stored was fascinating. Never, ever kill one in the house.

A female agiope aurantia is on my bucket list to have as a pet one day. She'd be the most spoiled creature ever with meal delivery.
Yes, I think they are amazing creatures with so much variety.
