It's certainly true that there's a sharp cutoff between Lancaster county and the eastern half of Chester county where I am. Philly and the surrounding 'burbs are heavily Democrat.

@Organist1 I actually enjoy walking the dogs in my neighborhood just on the outskirts of the Lancaster city. I always see so many yards with Democratic support signs, it gives me hope. Of course, half a mile out the Columbia Avenue and the signs change over to Republican and the further out into the county you go, the worse it gets. But I feel the warmth of my area, many of them expensive houses.

@Organist1 i moved to the York area in the 80's. During the one tRump campaign, i returned to visit the Southern Lancaster area and there were "Stop the Pipeline" signs right next to "Trump" signs. I emailed the guy running the anti pipeline campaign and mentioned the irony of that. He replied, quite simply, "Some people just don't think."

@Beowulfsfriend That's funny. I lived in the York area in the 1980s too -1988 to be exact. I had just gotten married then, and unbeknownst to us, we bought a log house in Hellam which happened to be next to an ex-con motorcycle gang member. His behavior was very scary, and we got out of there later the same year. There were some good things about York, but some very bad things, too, like many areas. Also, I learned that just because you live out in the country doesn't mean you're "getting away from it all", and you can still have bad neighbors.

I hope she votes -for Shapiro and Fetterman!

@Organist1 I'm not sure she can bring herself to do that, especially Fetterman. She was doing research on them. I'm guessing she wouldn't find Shapiro too hard to vote for. I told her just write a name in or leave it blank. NO vote is better than voting for the Republican candidates at this point. I am hoping a lot of Republicans just stay home out of disgust at their Party's choices.

@Barnie2years Staying home would certainly be the better choice for them. Oz is running a lie-filled campaign against Fetterman, trying to rile up the republican base to vote. I hope many of them realize what a lying carpetbagger he is. I now wonder what will happen if and when Trump announces he is running for president, and I believe he will.
