6:35 pm- checked in an hour ago. Just got to a room and saw the doctor.
Don't ya love it when the doctor blames your weight for your breathing and pain?
If you know it is not true, then you have to be an advocate for yourself. For example, my father went to the doctor because his left knee was hurting. My father was 90 years old. The doctor said, "Well, you are 90 years old." My dad said, "My other knee is 90 years old too. It doesn't hurt!" (Seriously...this is not a joke.)
At the county hospital, since most of the patients are indigent drug users seeking drugs or a place to sleep, everyone gets treated that way. I've resigned myself to not getting proper care unless I become a millionaire tomorrow. But, yes, that is a great story. I love cranky old farts!! ??
My Doctor says my weight is something to watch but for now I am healthy, yet he commented my weight may have contributed to torn rotator cuffs, - I don't swing from the trees.
Wait.... what???
This is unfortunately common, ESPECIALLY for women. If possible, I would encourage you to seek a new doctor, not to get the answer you “want” but because dismissing your pain is indicative of a bigger issue.
Yeah, I requested a different ER doctor than last night's. They said he wasn't on shift. But, tonight's was even more arrogant.
I am glad you decided to get things checked out. I hope you feel better soon.
Just released. Prescribed an Albuterol inhaler. In pharmacy now.
Yeah, I totally blew off a day's pay faking illness just so I could watch cable TV.
Hope he figures out what is going on.
