This is a first for me but reading this explained a lot. It’s about the difference between subjective and objective ‘truths.’ For example ”Because the shape of the Sun is independent of us, and because the truth about the shape of the Sun is fixed by the shape of the Sun (in accordance with the equivalence scheme), it follows that the truth about the shape of the Sun is fixed independently of us. Hence, the truth about the shape of the Sun is, in this sense, objective. This simple argument can then be repeated for various other propositions, the upshot being that objective truth is abundant.”
BTW this is a group of which I am a member and, letters I have submitted, have been published.

Kelly Ann Conway and her alternative facts came to mind.
Fun read!
I agree that a six-sided solid is objectively a six-sided solid, however I'd have some problems replacing "the shape of the sun" with "the nature of god" :
Because the nature of god is independent of us, and because the truth about the nature of god is fixed by the nature of god, it follows that the truth about the nature of god is fixed independently of us. Hence the truth about the nature of god is, in this sense, objective.
Wow! I suppose so.The shape of the Earth on the other hand depends upon one's viewpoint. The evidence from circumnavigation by land, sea, air and space is that it is approximately spherical which is objective though there exists those who have never observed it in such a way and whose subjective view is that the Earth is a circular disk bounded by ice.
No, the issue was about objective truths being totally independent on a person's view point. One's viewpoint is immaterial.
@JackPedigo OK, thanks, I confess that I did not understand it and so perhaps should have kept quiet.
@rogerbenham Been there done that lots of times so no big deal.
In general, absolute truth is whatever is always valid, regardless of parameters or context. The absolute in the term connotes one or more of: a quality of truth that cannot be exceeded; complete truth; unvarying and permanent truth.
The Sun is a good start, or we would not exist.
