I like the use of the word commitment instead of commandments. Commitments are self-imposed. Commandments are not. Unfortunately there are many people that won't know the difference and will object to what they consider a pollution of their religion.

This post is more practical than the 10 commandments from the book of fairy tales.

This eye catching colorful image been around for a few years. It's handy to post on social media or websites focusing on humanism, or in answer to questions someone might have about what it means to be a humanist. It's easily printed on a full size sheet of paper for reference at home, office, or for gatherings discussing humanism.

I personally am not a huge fan of calling them the "ten commitments" as they seem a little like "ten commandments" and I don't like being told what to do. But, I see the value in the graphic as being a more positive alternative to the religious commandments of "Thou shalt not..."

It's more colorful than the cards I tend to hand out to people who ask me about humanism:

Empathy is not just for and towards humans, it's for and towards all other life as well (or should be imho).
This definition of empathy means you don't need environmentalism, global awareness or responsibility. Empathy covers those areas.
