Well, the motive is not confirmed, however it is believed to be an act perpetrated by a group that had set out to keep drag queens from performing at a venue and when they failed to scare them away they shut down the power by shooting up the substations. I hope they get caught and charged with domestic terrorism.

Is this better than the mass shootings (lynchings)?

Interesting enough, North Carolina law can charge the perpetrators with murder if anyone dies from the outage. The largest population age group there is over 65 and the weather is freezing.
