I just made my first atheist YouTube video! It has been much to the credit of the people in this community that I had the audacity to make and post it. For this I thank you. I want to provide videos for those that were indoctrinated into Christian fundamentalism like I was to escape from religion. Please take a look and let me know what you think!

Wow, that was excellent! I admire your courage and your clarity of thought under stress. Except for the part about Scooby Doo. You seemed to be implying that Scooby Doo doesn't exist. What do you mean? He must exist, he's right there in the cartoon. 🙂

To argue with atheists by quoting the bible is circular reasoning and doesn't generally fly very well.

What did the King James version mean by "fool," anyway? Back then it was a more complicated concept than it is now. The fool was an entertainer for royalty, part scapegoat, part stand-up comedian, part advisor. Musicians were also entertainers, which is interesting when you think that this psalm was written for a musician. Was the word "fool" meant to apply specifically to him? Being a professional fool required a great deal of cunning and stamina. In Shakespeare's King Lear, the fool turns out to be the most intelligent character in the play.

How dare I deny Scooby doo!

Good job. I doubt that I would be able to do it.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Nice work. When a Christian insults a non-believer, they are pushing someone away from the message of their personal saviour. It's strange that they think their God would approve of that.
Another thing regarding the Psalm 14. I read it as the 'fool' rejecting God because he sees no good in the world. "They are corrupt...[etc]" is the 'fool' thinking. This is reinforced by the next two verses which show that God sees the same thing.
His foolishness resides in his acceptance of evidence, rather than denial of it in favour of faith.
The God of the OT is very frequently pissed off with what he has made (eg. Garden of Eden, the Flood, Sodom & Gomorrah). He will blame anyone but himself, it seems.

Thank you! you are right on! I often say sins is whatever pisses off God. The bad thing is since he is said to be all powerful and and all knowing, then it is actually his fault!
