It still sounds weird to my ears to have news reports talking about prayers for someone (in this case, the Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin) being universally expressed. Of course I wish him well, but prayers not being part of it.

I believe the Bills QB mention how it's been 3yrs-3mos since the last time the Bills had a touchdown run back on kickoff (they had two in fact). Hamlin is #3. The QB practically called it miraculous.
Wonder if the Bills will go all the way and the Hamlin injury/recovery will be the dominant narrative throughout.

It's interesting (and true) when he said 5-10 years ago play would have likely continued. I also made an observation in another forum that other sports/entertainment events have continued in the wake of a death or catastrophic accident (mostly motorsports, but I think maybe rodeo and a few others). I wasn't advocating for the game to continue as some indignantly assumed, just that there were other precedents. I feel for the most part the moneyed interests would act like the execs in Rollerball if they thought they could get away with it. Look how in the past how they've downplayed concussions or the toll artificial turf was taking on the players.

@Robecology - I have no idea, though various media outlets were quick to say what is was (or might have been)... and more importantly to declare what it was not, or couldn't have been. I saw the phrase "anti-vaxx ghouls" used in multiple instances.
