For those of you who are on Medicare, you should go to Medicare.gov and sign up to receive emails. You can also open an account with the web site, if you haven’t already.
I received this email today, stating that the Shingles vaccine is now covered under Medicare Part D. That is the prescription drug program you have designated, for which you pay directly through Social Security, unless your prescriptions are covered by your self-bought supplemental health care insurance.. The shots cost $175 each and you have to get two, so it is a substantial savings. See the “Good news” paragraph.

I'm sure that I am covered by Medicare. If not I will be covered by the VA.

Only if you have Part D. If you do not, it is not covered by Medicare.

@MsKathleen That leaves me the VA at $15 a pop on any single prescription or shot.

@DenoPenno I’m happy we do take SOME care of our Veterans, if not as much as we ought.
