I find it ironic that the guy who most popularly played 45, on SNL, is the one now charged for a crime. Strange daze indeed, mama.
Yeah, I guess it is ironic. Not sure how I feel about Alec being charged, unless it was intentional, then yes, but from my perspective, the prop master or whoever is in charge of the guns should be the one most responsible. I don't really know enough about the case to actually form an opinion, but it's sad all around, for sure.
Buck stops with the Producer, which was Baldwin. I think the charges seem right but haven't been paying any attention to this incident. I just found the irony worth pointing out.
@rainmanjr I don't know that I agree with that either. You can't ever know everything about everyone that works for you, and even if you do that doesn't mean their circumstances can't change without you knowing. Should every CEO get charged with murder if one of their employees kills a coworker? Even if they accidentally killed a coworker? Should the President go to jail if a postman "goes postal"?
@ChestRockfield It's not exactly that because Alec also shot the person. For your question I would refer to The Director of The Twilight Zone movie. John something went to jail for the helicopter mishap. A Producer is higher in rank than The Director.
@rainmanjr And the president is a higher rank than the Postmaster General. Not sure what you're getting at.
@ChestRockfield I thought it was pretty clear and I've already spent more time on this trivial issue than I meant to. My point was that he had the responsibility for all safety and failed in what might be a criminal way. Whatever the jury decides is fine with me.
@rainmanjr I'm just asking questions. Should the President go to trial if a postman kills a coworker?
@ChestRockfield I took a note from politicians I admire and don't do hypotheticals. Especially silly ones such as this (for the equation to hold up the President would have to do the shooting).
@rainmanjr Then why bring up that he's the producer?
@ChestRockfield I don’t know
