I saw a lot of powerful performances at Jazzfest. One of the standouts was a Gospel group by the name of The Electrifying Crown Seekers.,It was interesting sitting there with all those believers (and nonbelievers). But, I have to say...from the standpoint of music and energy, it was really powerful stuff. They played a long John Lee Hooker style set that blew the roof off.

Churches indoctrinate with music, I sell instruments and gear to lots of churches. Sometimes seems like the entire flock wants to play bass. I think a smoky bar is way less harmful. A bar is a business that tries to get your money by entertaining you but they don’t brainwash you into believing nonsense. That’s not the power of the lord vibrating your chest, it’s a shitty Ibanez bass and a Fender amp.

Would you say Music/Art transcends beliefs?
