I'm just curious about Agno's. opinion on whether trans-gender people should be allowed to participate in sports activities with their "chosen sex", especially if the sex they choose is female. Personally, I don't really care, but in spite of being liberal on almost every social issue, I think that acceptance of this position would be patently unfair to natural female athletes. Maybe this issue has been adequately covered, but if it has, I missed it. If so, what was the general consensus?
I am in agreement. I don't mind if trans M->F wants to play sports with women, but in no case should that person participate where such sports lead to scholarships or any other tangible/monetary reward. The potential for abuse (of a permissive policy) and harm to others takes priority over 'rights' in this case. However, I suspect I am in the minority with this position.
I doubt it. It makes sense to me.
Someone that was born with a penis should be forever
disqualified from a women's competition.
The situation with characters like 'Lia' Thomas is absurd.
I will qualify one exception.
Some people are born hermaphrodites,
and may be born with a vestigial penis
that will likely be removed by a surgeon
during infancy.
First of all, if put on puberty "blockers" at a young enough age, transgender females would have no advantage. The problem is that transphobes such as yourself, object to giving transgender children puberty blockers. Transphobes are doing everything they can to prevent early treatment.
I don't know why you have to be insultingly defensive. I never said I was "thans-phobic". I don't give a damn what adult people do with their pubes. My opinion is that of a feminist. But you are right. I think it is abominable to give a pre-pubic child a drug to change their assigned sex. That is child abuse!
