Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Some spiders allow their young to eat them. But in that case, the reason is seemingly obvious since that way they provide food for the young in the early stages by doing so. This just seem strange.

I prefer the preying mantis method... where the female eats her mate's head a bite at a time... like an apple
