Unfortunately, this will not change the mind of trumposoids: "Illegal Immigration Does Not Increase Violent Crime, 4 Studies Show". [npr.org]
I have about 2500-3000 people on my FB that discuss news and politics. One thing I've noticed is that the right doesn't really notice or acknowledge violent crime within their own demographics as they do outside of it.
Mass killings within it is usually done by people with illness and outside of it, terrorist.
It's called Folk Devils and Moral Panics. A phrase conned by Stanley Cohen Sociologist. The construction of people to fear by general society. Trumpsiods need an enemy that is within the USA, but can be considered deviant to the 'norms' of society. The NAZIs did it with the Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals et al. Media gather the stupid and ignorant together and before you know it .... some sort of war.
I didn't know this site would be used for name-calling. I may not be be religious, but I am conservative in many other ways. It seems that I don't fit in AGAIN. This might be the wrong site for me. Don't worry, every 4 yrs you get to vote for the lesser of 2 evils for president.
@Karma714 the left endures just as much shit as the right. Don't take it personal. Generalizing is common practice these days I suppose.
I live about 20 min from Mexico and never had any problem with any illegal immigrant being violent or anything else.
I am an Canadian Immigrant here on a Green Card married to hispanic man of Mexican decent. There are some Trump supporters whose brains would spontaneous combust if they knew in our family I am the only immigrant!
It makes me crazy how some people get on over illegal immigrants. It costs a lot of money to be here legally. Its going to cost me $2000 later this year to renew (not including all lawyer fees). Not everyone has that money, and most illegal immigrants end up that way when their greecards or work permits expire and don't have the funds on hand to pay on time. My parents (who are citizens now) had issues years back when theirs expired and didnt even realize it. They both were professionals fortunate enough to be able to afford a lawyer.
Anyone who has dealt with immigration knows its not a simple process and can take years on top of money upon more money. It is confusing and if you can't afford a lawyer it can take even longer and even more confusing. Even scary and intimidating.
You are correct. In fact, our economy would falter if it weren’t for illegal immigrants.
Contrary to popular belief, illegals DO NOT get government assistance. The opposite, however is true: most pay taxes.
With no illegals in this country, you wouldn’t have food on your table, or well built homes, clean cities - pretty much anything they do that majority of Americans would refuse to do.
Now, do I believe in legalization? Of course I do. But under administrations laden with bigotry and ‘merican populism, immigration possibilities are near non-existent.
@TheInterlooper does it really matter where people slave away and erode their own salaries? If they do it with the borders, they are consumers too. If they slave away in Bagladesh, Myanmar or Vietnam, they do not spent their $$$ in the country.
Immigration has never been the problem 45 and the republicans have been making it out to be.
They just need to put up a boogeyman for the ignorant sheep who follow them.
They've always focused their message on what "people need to fear" and they're the ONLY ones
who can 'protect' us. The facts have never mattered.
Fucking pathetic. Every last one of them.
Trumposoid? I thought I found a site with non-judgemental people. Not a big fan of labels!
They don't care. AMERICA has been hijacked by bad hombres as Trump would say. The U.S is like the Titanic without a rudder who's Captain is a narcissistic fruitcake surrounded by a motley crew of self serving cheerleaders. Immigrants enrich societies ...they factually do not in any provable way diminish them. AMERICA is holding it's breath and desperately waiting to exhale.
Language is a fundamental problem and not just in Trumplandia ... There is really no such thing as "illegal immigration"... It is this weird fiction that is used to remote control people's minds ...
Only in a non capitalist society.
@KellyPhelps ???
@PontifexMarximus Hello?
@KellyPhelps I didn't get the bit about non capitalist societies.
@PontifexMarximus Where there
is no land ownership.
All of this nonsense could be eliminated by not granting special privileges to those who are simply born here. You should have whatever privileges you EARN regardless of where you were born. I find myself having a ton more respect for people who risked their lives to come here than those who have forgotten the sacrifices of their ancestors. The only group that has a real claim against immigration are the Native Americans.
Nothing will change their minds, unless they get screwed over by him so obviously even they can't deny it.

Sure it does. President Trump says so.
Build the wall!!

You’re right. Regardless of how the argument turns, the issue is whether they should be here in the first place. By definition they came by breaking the law. From a policy standpoint, a person who has been here for many years and has led a law abiding life and has lawfully present relatives should be treated differently from newly arriving people, don’t you think?
