The differences within human DNA are of course tiny, so that one persons DNA would be a fairly good approximation for the whole human species. But of course from a medical pint of view, most of the interest is in the tiny differences, since they are the most resent mutations, and therefore the most likely parts to carry defects, not yet weeded out by natural selection.
