Even heard about people in UK for not hiring the religious for jobs. Because they are religious. Think that ìs pushing it too far, if they are qualified. I didn't like not being contracted because I wasn't religious, it works both ways

Of course a report from a religious rag. Maybe the problem concerns those with a 'faith' refusing to understand true religious freedom includes the right to not believe all the hokus pokus from the supernaturalists among the population. True belief should be based on observable and provable facts not moaning and groanings among the 'faithful' (whatever that means).

What is a lack of faith knowledge? I suppose you are saying it was deeply disturbing to find that so many in the UK had no real faith. Maybe they have learned that religions do not work for them any longer. The truth is that religions never did work for individual people.

Who was surveyed for the report? That is always telling of the motivations of the people conducting the study.

The sooner the British government gets its snout out of the trough of religion the better.

And your point is.?
I watched part of the coronation ceremony and it was a totally over the top religious ceremony. Archbish Welby was milking it for all he was worth and in my mind it did not reflect the state of religious observance in the country as a whole.
This report is by a Christian body and obviously they are concerned that people are moving away from the church.
I find it encouraging that we are becoming a secular country but we have a way to go yet.

When I last looked, Scotland seemed to be leading the way. Is that still the case?

@anglophone I like to think so. The Curch of Scotland is having it's annual general assembly this weekend and one of the topics on the agenda is how to reverse falling membership and which surplus churches to dispose of.

@Moravian Thank you. 🙂
