@1patriot Okay, I am a Brit looking at it from the outside too, so we have that in common. I will also take some steps toward you and agree that US politics is systemically corrupt. and it pretty much always has been since the start. However, there is a difference between the usual discrete quid-pro-quo that goes on in Washington and Trump's stupidly obvious grift. By his midterm, many historians had him down as the most corrupt POTUS since Warren B. Harding. I am sure he has surpassed that by now. But the thing is Trump was corrupt AND stupid. Look, he could not even be corrupt without cocking it up. How many times has he been caught on tape? But worst of all he has been and continues to be destructive and divisive. I have not known the type of turmoil Trump generated during his term since 1968. Now you can blame the Dems and BLM all you want but the fact is it happened on his watch and he doubled down instead of trying to defuse the unrest. The National Guard should be a resource of last resort, not first response. If fact if you look at it with a clear eye, you might conclude that he was secretly working for some other power (cough Russia). One can only surmise that his Russia connection has remained difficult to prove because Putin set it up.
But that is opinion and let us look at some facts.
MAGAs bleat on about a stolen election but refuse to look at the numbers. I followed the betting odds for the 2020 election and I could see Trump drift out to sea like Wilson. In December 2019 he was 8/13, which means you had to bet 13 bucks to win 8, a massive favorite. By August 2020 he was 9/2, so that same $13 would win you $58.50, in a 2-horse race! The difference was COVID. Whatever your opinions about COVID are (and no I do not need to know them) you will have to agree that his response was far from Churchillian. "It will all be over by Easter...Maybe...Why can't we inject bleach". And you think the Dems had to cheat to beat that? (Yeah and Trump is 6`3" & 218 lbs)

Then there is his character. A matter of opinion you might think but character witnesses are allowed in court (usually by the defence) and enough of them saying the same thing can be viewed as hard evidence. Not one of his former cabinet members or staff have a good word to say about him. Everyone from Cohen to Kelly, Christy, Barr and a score of others, tell of his ineptitude. Oh, but they are all small petty jealous people, who were never any good at their job (and Trump is 6`3" and 218 lbs) Funny how he hires "Only the best people" until he falls out with them and then they were always crap.
