As an honest and patriotic citizen and a Democrat, I am proud of the response of most Democratic politicians and voters to the indictment of New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez. The vast majority of us have called for immediate resignation, as the evidence seems clear and seems to be a recurring pattern.

At the same time, I cannot avoid noting how different the responses of most Republican politicians and voters are to the indictments on over 90 charges. of Donald Trump in 4 different state and federal jurisdictions. Again, the evidence clearly depicts a recurring pattern repeated often over many years. But Republican politicians and voters are, in contrast, calling for re-election of Donald Trump to the office of President.

In so doing they are indirectly saying the Republican party is no longer the party of law ad order, of deeply held values of honesty, integrity and patriotism. They should be ashamed.
