How can parents foster religious tolerance and respect within their families? I am open to learn something new tonight
By families do you mean their children?. Certainly you should teach children to respect all others be they of different race, class or religion but respect and tolerance of religious beliefs is something quite different. I think children should be taught about religions past and current but it should be impressed on them that they are based on mythology and nothing more.
Here’s more of that diversity you talk about!!
You don’t read news for whatever reason, so I’ll start sharing all the religious inclusion news on this thread for you!!
You’re welcome!!!

Dad was an atheist mom was not. He told me "This is what I believe, you do not have to believe the same. Make your own mind up". The fact that I was given a choice led me down his path rather than "I am the way and the light" which church and school tried to force upon me.
Things are rapidly changing and I think nobody cares about the way and the light anymore the truth is we all have to start questioning what most of this folks out there consider as norms ?
@Buck I bet you’d think I am Stephanie Jones look alike
@Buck I think I may have paraphrased the quote (it has been a while) John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." And John 8:12 " I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
Either way, it said to me "My way or highway" which didn't leave much room for individual choice, so I rejected it.
@Buck How can you be so sure that everyone on here knows I'm a troll? It's obvious here that you are the the troll do you have to jump on every thread with your racist nazis hardass? more importantly I cannot claim to know what every individual on this platform thinks about me. However, I strive to engage in genuine and meaningful conversations rather than exchanging word with an egostic nazis like you.
There are religions that would kill you for not believing, how do you respect that?
Children should be taught to question religion and all belief, it helps to throw light on delusion.
Most religions kill non believers. After all, accepting others religions is only possible by denying that yours is the “true” religion.
If you need proof of this statement, you only need to look at the current situation in the Middle East. This religious war has been going on for millennia.
If you need more proof that my statement is true, look at how much hate Christian’s in our country possess for non conformists!
Fact is, until the world is FREE of religion. It will continue to be full of intolerant hate and war…..
Liam is naive beyond words to think religious sects will ever tolerate each other. Their hate and intolerance for each other has grown significantly just in my short lifetime. One has to have their eyes closed to not see that…..
This be why a say she’s a troll. Nobody is that blind…..
Then again, look how bigoted and ignorant most of the gop are……
@Buck And not just religious believers, believers in general, look how quickly Trump's cult was willing to kill.
Believers do not have to be religious.
@nogod4me When they all came out in support of the pedo rapist, I couldn’t believe all these clowns believed the bs coming out of its shit hole. Then I reminded myself that these were the same folks that believed the fairy tales in the Buybull. If you will believe the horseshit in the Buybull, you’ll believe anything, right…..
@Buck In as much as i find some of your piece interesting to read, i won't tolerate you been a bully to me because I am lady or writing outta context.
I'd try to be precise with my response to some of your points here. To begin with, understand i am a NO GOD or BUYBULL woman Ok. I do not believe in mythology. i'm just a free and logical thinker. Is it true that most religions kill non-believers?
I'd say NO, it is not true that most religions kill non-believers. While there seems to be instances of religious violence throughout history, it is not representative of the beliefs and practices of the majority of religious followers. And just like @Nogod4me said” believers do not have to be religious.
Can accepting others religions only be possible by denying the truth of one's own religion?
Again, I'd say NO, in my views, accepting others religions does not require denying the truth of one's own religion. To me, religious tolerance and acceptance can be achieved by recognizing and respecting the diversity of beliefs without compromising one's own faith.
Is the current situation in the Middle East proof that religious wars have been ongoing for millennia?
Hell no, cause while conflicts in the Middle East have had religious dimensions, it is an oversimplification to claim that religious wars have been ongoing for millennia. The region's conflicts in my point of research are influenced by a complex interplay of political, social, and economic factors.
Apparently, your claim that the world will only be free of intolerant hate and war when it is free of religion would be an oversimplification. As far as i am concern, Intolerance and conflict can arise from various sources, including religious, political, and cultural differences. Achieving a peaceful and tolerant world requires addressing these complex issues.
@Liam991 You’re no lady, so drop the bullshit….
If I’ve ever seen a fake profile on here it’s yours…..
And the only way you can possibly think religions are able to be tolerant of each other is you need a history lesson or two……the Muslims and Christian’s have INDEED been killing themselves in the name of their religions for millennia, and will never cease to do so. Centuries ago they called their war the crusades, now they just call it war…..
@Buck What evidence do you have to support the claim that my profile pictures are fake? couldn't imagine myself exchanging comment with a delusional person like you so this would be my last reply to you. And for clarity purpose, I assure you that my profile pictures as seen are authentic representations of myself. If you have any doubts, I would be happy to provide further proof or clarification for your weaken nazis asholes.
@Buck More so, why do you believe it's necessary to burst my bubble and spread negativity? well, i dare you to do so ok. now i know maturity is not by numbers of your age. i have never meant to disrespect an old fool like you cause i feel It is important to promote a positive and respectful online environment. Instead of spreading negativity, let's focus on constructive discussions and fostering a sense of community. if you can't deal with logical person then stay off my thread okay.
@Buck I'd think It's essential to treat each other with respect and empathy, we don’t have to share the same believe or reason alike. It’s ok to disagree but to be troll on peoples thread? Now that is even more fake of you. Rather than creating a scene on every thread you see online With your negative vibes. Let's focus on exchanging ideas, learning from one another, and fostering a welcoming environment for everyone rather than been a a troll and a bully on here. 🥳
Children need to be protected from religion, not exposed. They don't need to be aggressive or Inciting conflict over religion, they can still be respectful to those who are also respectful. Teaching respect is a normal part of parenting anyway. Expose children to science, history and arts.
Religious tolerance? Religion should not be tolerated. Should be treated like your private parts! You can have it but be required to keep it to yourself unless specifically asked to get it out.
Applause, applause. Encore, encore. Great analogy.
Right, I never get my balls out unless I’m asked!!
I’m not seeing the support for religious diversity here that you speak of. It’s more like a christian inquisition around these parts…..
What evidence or experiences suggest that there is a lack of support for religious diversity here in our country? No doubts, there is a large number of dominance or favoritism towards Christianity, however, with my little encounter, I don’t think Christianity is imposed or enforced upon others.
@Buck No disrespect, I have always keep an open mind, just so I could learn from others. Could you be kind enough to enlighten me on the SCOTUS free exercise clause? Have you ever read about the smith rule? How informed are you on the RFRA? Lastly, have you really thought about the legal implications of banning a particular religion? I don’t see this happening cause it would lead to widespread discrimination, an ample devision and hostility in our society which is going to cause us civil unrest and conflict to say the least. I might be blind AF as I am not really a news person but trust me you ain’t informed about how religion and politics works. It’s obvious from your point. and logically it’s never going to happen before or after the next election.
@Liam991 The person who admittedly doesn’t read news is implying they possess knowledge that I don’t?!
The best part is you implying that “I” don’t know how politics or religion work….
Exactly how many political science classes have you had?!
I’ll answer that for you!!! ZERO!!!!
Now go crawl back under your rock…..
@Liam991 Since your troll ass lives under a rock, here’s some news about our wonderfully accepting diverse country!!!!
[newarab.com]
@Buck you def the real troll for the right speaking outta context. Who is talking about the buy bull? You’re ignorant as f***
Maybe take them to services (or watch videos) given by different religions...
Introduce them to good science fiction books.
Provide as much education as possible on both aberrant behavior as well as ethical instruction.
Expose them to history that they might not get in school.
That is pretty much what Unitarian churches do, as far as religious ed for their kids..
Considering the diverse religious believe in our society. What is your thought?
I'm not about religion or what it says in the bible. Studied once to be a Pentecostal preacher but learning how we got the bible and when it became the book it is today changed my mind completely. If kids are interested in Christianity let them study in detail on where, when, and home we got the bible and which books were excluded and why.
The front runner for the GOP doesn’t appear to share your blind views towards diversity…..imagine that troll!?!
