I have always thought it strange that, Greenland is not considered to be part of the Americas, in the Columbus arguments, because it is an offshore island. Yet the islands of the Caribbean are ?

Poor climate for growing, few people to exploit...also those people are descendents of Vikings and unlikely to be easily quelled. Pass 'em by!
