Same with addictive drugs, cults, and sex trafficking. They all prey on people who are at their lower or lower points in their life, and vulnerable to bad judgement or being used by others..That is also true of con men like Trump, who fills the lives of some very gullible, empty people, who live vicariously thru him, and feel that his fights against his enemies somehow give them a win in their lives, that they desperately need to feel ok, same as the sports fan who emotionally lives and dies with their team, even tho none it personally involves them and they get no material benefit from the team winning..

Never thought religion was good at something but I guess I'm mistaken.

Yes, when they 'find' god they can concentrate on something else than their unhappiness.

It seems that god suddenly becomes the answer.
