I am a runner. I started running 2 years ago. I love it. It has changed my life. Running makes me happy. Any other runners here?
I used to, but I will be back to doing it in no time. ?
I'm always running. I run my mouth, I run from my problems, I run from commitment
I also often do marathons.
Of netflix
@LadyAlyxandrea I can do those marathons too!
I love running!
One of my favorite running quotes is,
"I always loved running. It was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs."
-Jesse Owens
I love it!
I've done a fair amount of half marathons. I run to burn off the circus in my mind.
Same here.
I ran in college for a while.
Loved how it kept my mind off stuff pissing me off. I now realize how ticked/depressed I was back then. I was abke to focus on almost nothing. Just where I was.
I marvelled how I felt better on days I ran. I generally ran early in the mornings at the colleges track. Part of what I loved about the track was the monotony of the track. (Yet somehow I HATE treadmills) the focal point of the finish line ahead, or just over there... on the other side of the track. Breaking the track up into little fractions... like if Rainman was a runner! Inside my head was sort if a constant...
"11 and 5/8ths of a lap... 11 and 5/8ths of a lap... definitely, definitely 11 and 5/8ths of a lap down. 11 and 3/4s of a lap!!! Just 8 and 1/4 laps to go. Definitely 8 and 1/4s laps to go. I'm an excellent runner."
Running with my ex was impossible. She wanted to run around the neighborhood or in parks and actually converse!!! I'd be all 82, 82, 82 mode and crap while freaking out how I could feel my shoelaces or something!
Sadly that was like 55 pounds ago! Dang. I need to let my inner Raymond back out.
Former runner... I have lots of miles under my belt but had to switch to cycling last year due to osteoarthritis in my left hip.
As a runner I completed 2 marathons, several half marathons. My PR's of note were 1:28:28 for the half marathon, 37:37 for the 10k and 18:49 for the 5k.
My advice from my position of hindsight is to be patient and always be vigilant allowing time for injuries to heal. Better to be slightly undertrained than to not get to the starting line at all due to an injury.
Wow. Impressive PRs. Thanks for the advice.
I have no freaking idea why but for some reason this just popped into my head -
"Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better
Run run run run run run run away oh oh
Psycho Killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
Fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better
Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, away oh oh oh
Yeah yeah yeah yeah!" - Talking Heads
heheheheheh
I'll add it to my list of songs to listen to while I run.
Love running. Best high ever. I do at least 3 miles a day.
That's great!
Good for you man. Ran for many years. Then fell out of it after knee surgery. Still havent picked it up again and really need too. So I say again cheers!
